The Most Expensive Summer Destinations in Canada
August 12, 2015
The Alberta resort town of Banff has just claimed the title of being Canada’s most expensive summer destination. That’s according to a recent survey conducted by CheapHotels.org.
In determining the rankings, the survey undertook a comparison of all Canadian destinations. Lodging cost in each locale during the month of August served as the comparative basis. The survey excluded those hotels that are not centrally located, with less than a 2-star ranking and having an overall negative average client evaluation.
An average nightly cost of $197 for its cheapest available double room puts Banff at the top of the rankings. Coming in second place at an overnight price of $189 is Tofino in western Vancouver Island. Rounding out the Top 3 is Ontario’s Niagara on the Lake, which will cost summer guests an average of $174 per night.
