HOTEL EKAZENT SCHOENBRUNN, Vienna

The hotel is situated in a quiet yet convenient part of Hietzing, less than 3 minutes on foot from the main entrance to Schönbrunn Palace Park and Zoo. The U4 metro station (Hietzing) is within a 5-minute walk, offering a 15-minute ride to the city centre (Stephansplatz) and direct connections to Wien Mitte for airport trains. A tram stop is also nearby. The immediate area is filled with restaurants, cafés, a bakery, a supermarket, and various shops. For those arriving by car, on-site private parking is available for €21.80 per day, but free street parking is possible along nearby residential streets during evenings (6 pm to 8 am) and on weekends.

Rooms are notably spacious and include a separate dressing area or walk-in closet, a minibar, satellite TV, and a private bathroom with a shower (some with a small bathtub). Desk space is available for work. The overall decor and furnishings are original from the 1970s-80s, with older carpets and small CRT televisions in some rooms. The rooms are clean, but the dated materials can retain odors. The lack of air conditioning is a significant factor in warmer months - windows must be opened, which brings in street noise from the main road, particularly for front-facing rooms. Light sleepers should request a room away from the street. The bathroom can be small and has no ventilation, and some guests noted that the shower can wet the floor.

The hotel offers a daily continental breakfast buffet for €8 per person. It includes bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, cereals, fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Hot options like scrambled eggs or sausages can be ordered for an additional charge. The breakfast room features a terrace on the 5th floor with views over Vienna - a popular spot on fine mornings. For a quick and cheaper alternative, a bakery and a Spar supermarket are directly adjacent to the hotel. The surrounding area is dense with restaurants, cafés, and wine bars offering a variety of cuisines, all within a 2-3 minute walk.

The hotel does not operate a pool, spa, gym, or sauna. The primary leisure asset is the immediate proximity to the Schönbrunn Palace grounds, which include extensive gardens, a zoo, and a children's playground - all reachable within a 3-minute walk. This makes the property a practical base for families and visitors interested in outdoor activities and cultural sightseeing rather than hotel-based wellness.

The 24-hour front desk can assist with tours, express check-in/out, and airport shuttle arrangements (at an additional cost). Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the hotel. Daily housekeeping is included. Luggage storage is free for guests arriving early or departing late. A safety deposit box is available in the room at no extra charge. On-site private parking is available for €21.80 per day (reservation not needed). A business centre and fax/photocopying services are on offer. The hotel is partially accessible, with a lift connecting the ground floor to the 3rd-floor reception, but some rooms on the 4th and 5th floors are only reachable by stairs.
