HOTEL PHILIA, Rome

The hotel occupies a 19th-century Umbertino building in the historic centre, directly behind Termini station. The location gives immediate access to trains, buses, and Metro line B (Castro Pretorio stop). Sapienza University is an 8-minute walk away, and Piazza Barberini is 2 km from the property. Rome Ciampino Airport is 14 km from the hotel. The immediate area is busy with transport connections but also includes 8 restaurants and cafes within a 5-minute walk, making it practical for both day trips and evening dining. The neighbourhood has a functional, transport-oriented feel rather than a scenic urban atmosphere.

Rooms come with satellite TV, a work desk, free WiFi, and a refrigerator. Some rooms offer city views, while others face a quiet inner courtyard. A small shared lift serves all floors, but it is narrow and can comfortably fit only 2 people plus luggage. Rooms can vary considerably in size and condition - some are compact and functional, while others have more space. Beds are standard double or twin configurations. Rooms on lower floors or near common areas may pick up corridor noise. A room away from the staff room and reception areas is better for light sleepers. The property does not have balconies.

The front desk is staffed 24 hours and can provide concierge services, tours, and luggage storage. The airport shuttle must be pre-arranged and incurs an extra fee; flight details are required to book it. Reception staff speak German, English, Spanish, French and Italian. Safety features include CCTV in common areas, smoke alarms, a security alarm, a safe deposit box, and fire extinguishers. WiFi is free throughout the property. No restaurant, bar, spa, swimming pool, or gym is available. Housekeeping is provided, but some rooms may not receive daily servicing automatically - if daily cleaning is important, confirm at check-in.
