PAUL'S MOTOR INN, Victoria

The hotel sits on Douglas Street, a major thoroughfare with bus routes that connect to attractions like Butchart Gardens. Chinatown is a 5-minute walk away, while the waterfront and Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre are within a 10- to 15-minute walk. The area offers numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. The bus from the ferry to Victoria stops nearby, making car-free access convenient. The location is also bike-friendly.

Rooms are available with one or two double beds, or a king with a sofa bed. Each room includes free Wi-Fi, air conditioning (portable units in some rooms), heating, a mini-fridge, a coffee/tea maker, ironing facilities, and free toiletries. Some rooms have a microwave. Bathrooms are private but can be compact, with low shower heads (those over 5'9" may need to bend). Rooms face the parking lot or the courtyard; ground-floor rooms have doors opening directly to parked cars. Noise from the street, nearby rooms, and the air conditioning unit is common. While many rooms are spacious, some are smaller, and decor may feel dated with older carpets.

Paul's Diner has hours that vary: Monday 07:00-15:00, Tuesday-Thursday 07:00-20:00, Friday-Saturday 07:00-22:00, Sunday 07:00-20:00. The diner offers classic comfort food; breakfast is particularly well-regarded with large portions. Dinner may have a cover charge on certain nights. The hotel does not include breakfast, but the diner is a convenient option. Many other restaurants are within a short walk, including Splash Bar and Grill, At Bangkok, and Jam Cafe.

The hotel provides free on-site parking without reservation. A 24-hour front desk assists with check-in and queries. Daily housekeeping is included; laundry and fax/photocopying are available for a fee. Wi-Fi is free in guest rooms but may have variable strength. Pets are allowed with potential charges. The motel's outdoor corridor layout means no elevator, so second-floor rooms require stairs. The property is bike-friendly and offers luggage storage after check-out.
