Reforma Avenue sits in central Mexico City, within a couple of blocks of the metro and within walking distance of Paseo de la Reforma, the Zócalo, Bellas Artes and Expo Reforma (about five minutes on foot). Numerous restaurants - including Fonda La Parrilla Argentina, Tacos El Caminero, Cafe La Habana, Los Bisquets De Obregon, La Gloriosa and Bucardon - are within 300 metres. The location is the property's strongest asset, well-suited to guests whose priority is walkable access to the city's core attractions and business area.

The accommodation is older and poorly maintained. Carpeted floors are often stained and carry an odour. Lighting is insufficient, with multiple non-functioning lamps. The air conditioning units are old, noisy and often do not cool the room effectively - in some cases they simply blow air at ambient temperature. Televisions are old-style CRT models with only 5-6 cable channels, several with interference. Mattresses have been described as uncomfortable, with visible stains in some cases. Road-facing rooms suffer from street noise, making sleep difficult.

Breakfast is served as an included buffet featuring dishes from the on-site restaurant EL FAISAN, which also offers a bar and a la carte service. Food quality has been described as decent by some, though the buffet frequently runs out of items before the official 11:00 end time - by 10:00 it is common for hot dishes to be cold and empty. Guests arriving after 08:00 may find very little left. Dinner service from the restaurant is available but a kitchen closes early (no hot meals or even water after 22:00).

The 24-hour front desk offers luggage storage (for a fee), currency exchange, a tour desk and a safety deposit box - though availability of safety deposit boxes is limited and often taken by staff. Car hire and a business centre are also available. The building has a lift but no functional stairwell for emergency evacuation; the stair areas are dirty and unlit. Wi-Fi is free but does not reach the guest rooms - connectivity is limited to the reception area. Private on-site parking is free and does not require a reservation.
