WHITE LOFT NEAR DUOMO ORTI 14, Milan

This is a generously sized, architecturally converted basement-level apartment (often described as a loft) with high ceilings and a stylish, modern decor. It contains one separate bedroom, a living space with a sofa bed, and a fully equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher and washing machine. There are two full bathrooms, both with showers, which is a significant advantage for groups. However, the apartment has serious and documented issues with persistent dampness, mould, and sewage odours. The bathrooms lack windows. Water pressure in the showers is frequently insufficient, and electrical circuits may trip when using multiple appliances simultaneously. The apartment comes with essential furniture, but furnishings such as chairs and sofas have been reported as worn or dirty. Noise from neighbours can be an issue, particularly for those sleeping on the sofa bed.

The apartment is situated in a prime residential area in the heart of Milan, scoring an excellent 8.7 for location. It is a short walk (about 8 minutes) from a metro station providing quick access to the Duomo (about 2 stops) and other landmarks. The neighbourhood is full of life, with a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes located directly on the same street and within a 300-metre radius. The area is quiet and residential, yet extremely well-connected for exploring the city. The central train station is about a 15-minute taxi ride away, and trams are also nearby.

The apartment does not have a restaurant or bar. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher and modern appliances for self-catering, but at check-in there are no starter supplies such as coffee, tea, oil, salt, sugar, or even bottled water. For dining, the surrounding area is a major strength. Dozens of restaurants, pizzerias, and bars are within a 2-minute walk, including Lacerba, Pizzeria Condurro, and Apres-coup. This makes eating out very convenient, but guests planning to cook should be prepared to buy all ingredients from scratch.

Facilities include free Wi-Fi (though reliability can vary), air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, and a washing machine/dryer. The host provides a welcome video with instructions for self-check-in via a key box located a short distance from the main door. Communication with the host is available via WhatsApp and can be helpful for resolving issues, but responsiveness may sometimes be slow. There is no on-site reception, daily housekeeping, or mid-stay cleaning service, even for extended stays. A significant cleaning fee of 110 EUR is applied separately. Luggage storage is officially a offered service but has been known to be unreliable, with guests being redirected to external services at the train station. Invoice is provided.
