San Luis Pass Beach is 3 km away, Galveston Island State Park is 24 km, and the Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark and Moody Gardens are both 39 km. For longer trips, William P. Hobby Airport is 100 km away. A private boat ramp is available for those arriving by boat, and kayak launching is possible from the property.

RV sites are paved, level, and set in well-maintained grass with many featuring sun shelters or picnic tables; some premium sites include private fireplaces or palapas. The park's original layout as John Wayne's private runway provides spacious views from most back-in sites. Sewer hookups are located at the front of each site, so an extended hose may be needed. Cabins available for rent are small and compact, each containing one bedroom, one private bathroom, a kitchen with cooking and food storage essentials, a flat-screen TV, and air conditioning. Cabins are equipped with basic cookware, dishes, and a coffee maker. Rooms facing the road or near the clubhouse can experience more noise, while sites along the canal offer quiet and direct fishing access. The cabins are described as basic and compact, better suited for sleeping and showering than extended lounging.

The on-site restaurant offers a menu of pub food including burgers, fried seafood platters, shrimp appetizers, and brunch items. The bar serves wine and beer, with cocktail specials on weekends. The restaurant's hours have been subject to change and the property may go through periods where it closes midweek or for extended stretches; it is best to confirm availability at check-in.
