The hotel sits in the heart of downtown, within a block of 6th Street's bars and music venues. The Capitol Building is 500 metres away, and the Convention Center is 800 metres. The Frank Erwin Center at UT Austin is 1 km, and Texas Memorial Stadium is 2 km. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is 10 km away; the hotel does not offer a shuttle, but the city bus costs under $2 each way or rideshare about $20. Walking distance to dozens of restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmacies. For those driving, public parking garages are available nearby (payable), or use the hotel's valet.

Room types include the King room (one king bed) and Double Queen (two queen beds). Corner rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Texas Capitol and Congress Avenue, providing excellent views. All rooms feature a walk-in shower, free toiletries, hairdryer, safe, and carpeted floors. Seating areas are available in some rooms. White noise machines and earplugs are provided because street noise from 6th Street and sirens can be audible, especially on lower floors. Higher floors are noticeably quieter. Rooms are modern but some may feel compact; bathrooms have sliding barn doors that do not fully close. There are no balconies.

Caroline Restaurant serves American cuisine for breakfast (plated dishes like Huevos Rancheros), lunch, and dinner. The Coffeehouse at Caroline is open for breakfast and coffee.
