HOTEL ALANE, Paris

The hotel is positioned directly on Boulevard de Magenta, a busy thoroughfare only a minute from Gare de l'Est train and metro station (lines 4, 5, 7). Gare du Nord (RER B, Eurostar) is about 500 metres away, making it a practical base for airport transfers - 30 minutes to Charles de Gaulle via RER B - and for reaching Stade de France (10 minutes) or Parc des Expositions (20 minutes). Metro lines 4, 5, and 7 give fast access to major landmarks: Notre-Dame (10 minutes by metro), Louvre (15 minutes), Montmartre area (18 minutes), and the department stores on Boulevard Haussmann (10 minutes). Canal Saint-Martin is within a short walk, with restaurants and bars lining the canal. The neighbourhood is young and energetic but also experiences street noise late into the night, and some parts feel less calm after dark.

The 32 rooms are fully soundproofed with double-glazed windows, yet noise from the boulevard and neighbouring rooms can still be audible - light sleepers should consider a higher-floor room. Each room has an individually controlled air-conditioning unit (though the temperature cannot be adjusted by the guest), central heating, a desk, safe, electric kettle, and a courtesy tray with tea and coffee. Flat-screen TV with satellite channels, direct phone line, and free Wi-Fi are standard. Bathrooms are very compact: shower, toilet, hairdryer, and free toiletries. Some rooms include a mini-fridge, and a few have a balcony overlooking the street. No wardrobe is provided - only open shelving and hangers. Daily housekeeping is included. The feel is practical and functional rather than spacious: room size is tight, and bathroom space is especially limited.

Breakfast runs from 07:00 (07:30 at weekends) and includes hot drinks (coffee, tea, hot chocolate), fruit juice, fresh bread, pastries, butter, jam, cheese, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. The breakfast room is compact - seating about 16 people - so it can fill quickly during peak times. The selection is continental and basic; there are no hot cooked options. The neighbourhood immediately around the hotel has numerous cafés, brasseries, and restaurants within a few minutes' walk for lunch or dinner.

The 24-hour reception is staffed at all hours, allowing early check-in bag drop and late arrivals. Free luggage storage is available both before check-in and after check-out. Daily housekeeping is included and includes towel changes. Express check-in/check-out is offered. A lift serves all floors. Business facilities are limited to fax/photocopying at an extra charge. Safety and security include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, security alarm, and key-card access. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and unlimited in bandwidth. No rooms are adapted for guests with reduced mobility. No pets allowed.
