The hotel sits opposite an ambulance station, so traffic noise can be heard; rooms on higher floors or facing the interior are noticeably quieter. Several casual restaurants and pubs are within 300 metres, and the South Bank's cultural venues are a pleasant waterfront stroll.

Standard rooms are small with pod-style bathrooms featuring a shower curtain rather than a screen. Storage is minimal - a few hangers on an open rail, no drawers or bedside table. The Travelodge Dreamer bed is generally found comfortable, though some find the mattress too firm. USB ports are provided beside the bed and a desk with multiple charging points. Blackout curtains help with sleep, but street-facing rooms can be noisy. Air conditioning is not reliable; many rooms have a portable fan. Superior rooms on higher floors are larger, quieter, and include a hairdryer and iron. Family rooms have extra fold-out beds and adequate space for up to four. No in-room fridge, safe or telephone.
