67 APARTMENT UENO, Tokyo

Situated just off the main tourist corridor, the apartment sits on a calm street steps from Sogenji Temple and Akiba Shrine. Kappabashi-dori Shopping Street (kitchenware district) is a 6-minute walk away, and the lively Ameyoko market area is under 15 minutes on foot. Ueno and Iriya metro stations are both about a 10-minute stroll, providing direct access to Asakusa, the Tokyo Skytree area, and the Yamanote loop line. Haneda Airport is 29 km away via train. The neighbourhood feels safe and quiet at night, with several convenience stores and local eateries within a 5-minute walk.

Each unit includes air conditioning, a washing machine, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, and a private entrance. Floor plans range from double rooms to triples with one bed plus a futon. The rooms are clean and newer, but space is typical for central Tokyo - the double room can feel tight, while triple rooms offer more comfortable seating and floor area. The steep stair access is a notable feature; the apartments themselves are on an upper floor with no lift. Bathrooms have a bath and shower with a bidet, and the well-equipped kitchenette includes utensils, a microwave, and a fridge.

The apartment's kitchenette is stocked with enough cookware and utensils to prepare simple meals, and a washing machine makes longer stays convenient. Several casual dining options are within a 5-minute walk, including soba, Thai, and Japanese curry spots. For groceries and snacks, convenience stores (konbini) are a 2-3 minute walk away, and the Ameyoko market area offers a wide range of cheap eats and fresh produce. There is no on-site restaurant or meal service.
