The street is active on weekends with nearby nightclubs, making the location ideal for those who enjoy nightlife, though earplugs are available for light sleepers. Accommodation options include single beds in mixed-gender or female-only dorms (6-8 beds), double beds in mixed dorms (not private), and private double rooms with queen bed. All share hallway bathrooms (shower, hairdryer). Bunks have reading lights, privacy coverings on lower bunks, and a secure locker underneath. Private rooms may have a sink and TV; some are in the main building, while others are in the quieter Annex building on Bartol Street (1.5 blocks away). The Annex offers a more laid-back atmosphere, its own kitchen, cheaper laundry, and a third-floor patio with Bay Bridge views. Rooms generally lack air conditioning and have carpeted floors; some have windows overlooking the street or alley. The building has no elevator, requiring stairs to reach rooms on upper floors. For those sensitive to noise, the Annex or a room away from the street is advisable.

Breakfast includes bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, and tea. Most options are suitable for vegan or vegetarian diets (cream cheese, milk, and eggs are the exceptions). The kitchen is fully equipped with stoves, refrigerators, and a guest fridge for storing personal food, allowing you to prepare meals. There is no restaurant on site, but the location is surrounded by dining in North Beach and Chinatown-within 0.5 km you will find a wide range of restaurants including Betty Lou's, House of Nanking, and Tommaso's.
