The hostel is within a 3-minute walk of the Musée de l'Archéologie et de l'Histoire de Montréal and an 8-minute walk from Square-Victoria Metro Station, giving direct access to the city's underground network. Chinatown is a 10-minute walk away. The area is pedestrian-friendly, with many of Montreal's main sights, restaurants, and nightlife within walking distance. Parking is not available on site, but public parking lots are within a 2-minute walk (approx. CAD 20 per day). The neighbourhood is lively, which can add to the vibrant atmosphere but also contributes to street noise in the evenings.

All rooms share bathroom facilities (one bathroom per roughly 9 people). Dorm beds vary: some have privacy curtains, others do not. Power sockets are only located near bottom bunks, so a power bank is advisable for upper bunk sleepers. The building has no lift, and the women-only dorm is on the top floor (four flights of stairs). Triple-level bunk beds exist in some dorms. The private red room is noted as comfortable for a couple or three people. The dorm rooms can feel cramped, especially when fully occupied, and the wooden floors and doors are known to be creaky. Some rooms are very warm in summer and relatively cold in winter; air conditioning is available but can be noisy.

No breakfast is provided on site. The large shared kitchen includes two fridges, two ovens, a stovetop, a microwave, and an electric kettle. Spices, tea, and coffee are offered free of charge. A free food basket (donations from previous guests) may also be available. For those who prefer to eat out, many restaurants, cafés, and bakeries are located within a 2-5 minute walk. Breakfast options include nearby Couche Tard for pastries and drinks. The hostel does not serve evening meals, but communal events such as poutine nights (free for excellent reviews) are organised in the common area.

The hostel offers a range of free leisure activities: a games room, board games/puzzles, an indoor play area for children, and a stroller-friendly environment. Free evening entertainment includes live sports broadcasts, themed dinner nights, and tours/classes about local culture. Ski storage and skiing/cycling information are available. There is no spa, swimming pool, or gym on site. The common room serves as the social hub, with a relaxed atmosphere, a library of books, musical instruments, and an open space for meeting other travellers. The hostel also provides a children's playground.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Luggage storage is free of charge. Lockers are provided (bring your own lock). Laundry (washer/dryer) is available from the late afternoon onwards after the staff finish cleaning (ask at reception). Express check-in/check-out is free. The property is accessible 24 hours after check-in via a key code. A mini-market is on site. No parking is provided; public parking is within a short walk.
