CITY INN EXPRESS HOTEL, London

The hotel sits on a busy main road adjacent to a 24-hour petrol station. London Fields Overground is a 3-minute walk, providing direct trains to Stratford and connections to central London. Hackney Empire theatre is a 10-minute walk, and ExCel exhibition centre is a 20-minute drive or about 40 minutes via public transport. Buses stop outside, and the area is well-served by local shops, takeaways, and parks. The entrance is tucked away and can be hard to find on first arrival.

Standard rooms are compact but functional, featuring an en-suite bathroom with a power shower, a flat-screen TV, DVD player, and free Wi-Fi (coverage limited to some rooms). Heating and soundproofing are provided, but road noise from the busy main road and petrol station can be heard, especially in front-facing rooms. No air conditioning or balcony exists; a fan is available upon request. Tea/coffee facilities are not in the room but can be accessed at the communal reception area, along with a fridge. Bedding and cleaning consistency vary; rooms are basic and suitable for short, budget stays. Upper-floor rooms require climbing stairs as there is no lift.

The 24-hour front desk handles late check-ins, luggage storage (bag drop-off before check-in possible), and provides ironing facilities and hairdryers on request. Private parking costs £20 per day, first come, first served; street parking is also an option. Free Wi-Fi is available in some rooms. Safety features include CCTV, smoke alarms, and key access. The property is non-smoking and does not allow pets. Payment is accepted via Visa and Maestro. There is no lift; the hotel has stairs. A communal TV lounge and dining room are for guest use. Fax/photocopying services are available for an extra charge.
