ECONO LODGE ROCHESTER I-90 & I-390, Henrietta

The hotel sits on West Henrietta Road with easy access to I-90 and I-390, making it convenient for transit travellers. Within walking distance are several restaurants: Tony Pepperoni (0.5 km), Canton House Restaurant (1 km), and Osaka Sushi (1 km). The surrounding area has safety concerns after dark, with reports of drug activity and long-term residents living in vehicles on the property. Guests arriving by car should park in well-lit areas and avoid leaving valuables visible.

Guest rooms consistently show problems: cockroaches, bed bugs, stained bedding and towels, mold, broken door locks, non-working air conditioning or heating, and pervasive smells of smoke or cannabis. Some rooms include a microwave and refrigerator. Soundproofing is minimal - hallway and outside noise carries easily. The furniture is old and worn. For the very low nightly rate, travellers should expect to bring their own bedding and cleaning supplies and be prepared for an unpleasant environment. Positive experiences are rare and typically describe a clean room at a low price, but this is not the norm.

Dining on site is limited to the bar and coffee shop; there is no breakfast service despite some listings suggesting otherwise. Vending machines provide packaged snacks and drinks. For meals, several restaurants are within a short walk: Tony Pepperoni (0.5 km) offers pizza, Canton House Restaurant (1 km) serves Chinese food, and Osaka Sushi (1 km) provides Japanese options. Guests should plan to eat out for breakfast and full dinners.

Additional services include fax/photocopying, vending machines, and meeting/banquet facilities. The front desk operates 24 hours but requires a photocopy of your credit card at check-in. Daily housekeeping is offered but reports indicate it is often ineffective - rooms may not be cleaned properly. Parking is free and on-site with no reservation, but spaces can be tight. The property has a lift and wheelchair-accessible rooms. Pets are not allowed. The overall condition of the building and rooms is very poor, with frequent maintenance issues.
