GEMINI STUDIOS, Florence

The apartment is an 8-minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station and a 15-minute walk from the Duomo and Florence's major landmarks. The airport tram line stops steps away, and the city centre is a 10-minute walk. The area is generally quiet but the street can be busy; rooms facing the street may experience traffic noise. The surrounding streets offer several Indian, sushi and Italian restaurants within a 5-minute walk. The studio is well placed for exploring Florence on foot or via the tram, with the Leopolda convention centre and Porta al Prato also nearby.

Studios are spacious and include a kitchenette with oven, stove, microwave, toaster, fridge and coffee machine. Each has a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, plus a dining area and wardrobe. The studio has a flat-screen satellite TV and air conditioning. Rooms are cleaner, towel quality is good, and the linen is fresh. However, some studios smell of drains or cigarette smoke, and one window may not be enough to air the room. Mosquitoes can be a problem in summer - bring repellent. The place is dated and the furniture is basic, but the size and equipment are practical for self-catering. Light sleepers should avoid street-facing studios.

Each studio has a kitchenette with stove, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, electric kettle and coffee machine, plus kitchenware and a dining table. That makes it possible to prepare full meals. There is no restaurant or breakfast at the property. The surrounding area has Indian, sushi and Italian dining within 300-500 metres, including Haveli Indian Restaurant, Zushi, and Trattoria Dall'Oste.

A key leisure facility is the internal courtyard garden, accessible to all studios. It has some tables and chairs, creating a space to relax in the evening. The garden overlooks the inner courtyard, offering a calm alternative to the street. There is no pool, spa, gym or other wellness facilities on site.

WiFi is available and free in all areas. An airport shuttle (pick-up/drop-off) and a general shuttle service are available for a surcharge. The property offers express check-in/out and an invoice provided. Luggage can be left before check-in. There is 24-hour security with CCTV inside and outside, plus fire extinguishers and key access. There is no on-site laundry, but a laundromat is nearby. The property has accessible parking and a parking garage nearby (€2/hour). However, the building has no lift, so upper studios are only reachable by stairs. A cot can be requested. The property is non-smoking throughout, with a designated smoking area.
