GUELFA HOUSE, Florence

Guelfa House sits on a quiet residential street in the historic centre, yet major landmarks are within easy walking distance. The Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Ponte Vecchio are all reachable in under 15 minutes. Santa Maria Novella station is about 600 metres away, and Tram 2 (direct to the airport) stops nearby. The street itself is lined with shops, supermarkets, a market, and numerous restaurants - including Trattoria Mario, Osteria I Brincello, and Fuoco Matto - all within a few blocks. The apartment is on the ground floor, so no stairs are needed to enter.

The apartment offers a separate bedroom with a comfortable double bed and a living area that includes a sofa bed, making it suitable for families or groups of up to five guests. Two full bathrooms (one with a walk-in shower) are a practical advantage when travelling with multiple people. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle, kitchenware, and a dining table for self-catering. Additional conveniences include air conditioning, heating, a washing machine, ironing facilities, and a flat-screen TV. The apartment is on the ground floor, has no balcony, and the street is quiet, so road noise is minimal at night. It is clean, well-maintained, and has a contemporary feel.

Guelfa House does not operate a restaurant or serve breakfast, so all meals must be prepared in the apartment or sourced from the surrounding area. The kitchen includes a stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and tea and coffee making facilities, making it easy to cook for a family. The neighbourhood around Via Guelfa offers a dense concentration of restaurants, cafés, and pizzerias within a 5-minute walk, including Trattoria Mario (Italian), Osteria I Brincello (Tuscan), and Fuoco Matto (steakhouse). Supermarkets are also nearby for groceries.

The property does not have a spa, swimming pool, or fitness centre. For relaxation and recreation, guests walk to Florence's main sights - the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria are all within 10-15 minutes. An ice-skating rink is also within 2 km. The quiet street and comfortable apartment provide a peaceful base after a day of walking.

Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the apartment. Pets are allowed on request, with possible extra charges. Luggage storage can sometimes be arranged after check-out, allowing a few extra hours to explore the city. An invoice is provided for business travellers. The apartment has two sets of keys, convenient for parties splitting up. There is no lift, but the unit is on the ground floor with step-free access. Safety features include fire extinguishers and smoke alarms. The host has been described as communicative and helpful with check-in and luggage handling.
