HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS SACRAMENTO CONVENTION CENTER, AN IHG HOTEL, Sacramento

The hotel is situated in downtown Sacramento, within a short walk of government buildings and the Convention Center. The area offers several dining options within 0.5 km, including Sandra Dee's, The Melting Pot, and Chando's Cantina. Old Sacramento and supermarkets are also reachable on foot. While the immediate neighbourhood can feel less safe after dark, the hotel has a security presence and a free on-site parking lot, making it practical for those arriving by car.

Guest rooms feature free wired internet, tea and coffee facilities, and an iron. Beds are comfortable, with soft and firm pillow options. However, the furniture and carpets show wear, and lighting can be dim. Some rooms have reported musty odours, noisy air conditioning, and weak water pressure. For a quieter stay, request a high floor away from the elevator and street. Rooms near the elevator are well soundproofed. Some bathrooms have small toilets and cling-wrap shower curtains that may feel cramped.

The complimentary breakfast includes hot items such as scrambled eggs and bacon, along with pastries, instant oatmeal, and coffee. The breakfast room can become crowded during peak hours, and the food is basic but sufficient for a quick start to the day. Several restaurants are within a 5-minute walk for lunch or dinner, including Italian, Mexican, and seafood options.

The fitness centre provides standard exercise equipment. Its availability should be confirmed at check-in, as it has been closed during renovation periods. There are no additional wellness facilities such as a pool or spa on site.

The hotel offers free public parking on site without a reservation. A 24-hour front desk, safety deposit box, and ATM are available on site. The business centre provides fax and photocopying services, and there is a lift for easy access. Wi-Fi is wired and free in rooms. The property is wheelchair-accessible and is a non-smoking building. A security car patrols the parking lot. Pets are allowed on request with charges.
