HOME2 SUITES CHARLOTTE I-77 SOUTH, Charlotte

The hotel sits directly off I-77 in a cul-de-sac shared with a few other hotels, offering easy highway access for driving to downtown Charlotte (about 8 km), Southpark Mall (7 km), and the NASCAR Hall of Fame (9 km). Billy Graham Library is 4 km away, and Sonny's BBQ, Birch Bar, and Newk's Express Cafe are all within 1 km. The surrounding area includes a mix of shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores, though the immediate locale has an industrial and highway-adjacent feel. Parking is free and adequate, but vehicle break-ins have occurred in the lot; parking close to the entrance and avoiding visible valuables is advisable. The property is about 15 minutes from the airport, but no shuttle runs, so a taxi or rideshare is needed. For car-free travel, an Uber or Lyft is the most practical option for reaching uptown attractions.

Rooms are genuinely spacious, with a layout that separates the sleeping area from the living space via a curtain. Studio suites offer two queen beds and a pullout sofa, while one-bedroom suites feature a king bed in a separate bedroom. Each unit includes a full kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and tea/coffee maker; a stovetop is available by request at check-in. The sitting area includes a sofa bed, work desk, and flat-screen TV with cable channels. Air conditioning and heating are controlled via a wall thermostat or window unit, but some units have been reported as finicky or unresponsive. The interiors feel modern and clean when well-maintained, though the property shows wear-and-tear: stained carpets, damaged furniture, and noise transfer through thin walls and doors are noted. Light sleepers should request a top-floor room away from elevators and the fourth-floor laundry area to avoid footfall and machinery noise. Rooms do not have balconies.

Breakfast is included in the stay and served buffet-style each morning. The spread typically includes waffles, scrambled eggs (pre-packaged frozen style), a variety of meats such as sausage or bacon, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruits like bananas and apples, muffins, and juices. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available throughout the day. Breakfast quality is considered standard for a complimentary hotel offering, though hot items are sometimes room-temperature rather than hot. The breakfast area is attended by staff (notably Emilia) who keep items stocked and the area clean. There is no full-service restaurant or bar on-site, but a coffee shop is in the lobby. Several dining options are within a 1 km walk, including Sonny's BBQ, Newk's Express Cafe, and Birch Bar, offering alternatives for lunch or dinner.

WiFi is free in all areas. Free parking is available on-site, though the lot has experienced vehicle break-ins, so parking close to the entrance is recommended. The property has a lift, wheelchair-accessible rooms, and facilities for disabled guests. Services include a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/out, vending machines for drinks and snacks, and a coin-operated laundry (dry cleaning at an additional charge). The business centre offers free fax/photocopying. Luggage storage is available but not guaranteed; it is best to confirm upon arrival. Housekeeping is every other day by default; daily service is available if requested at the front desk. Pets are allowed with applicable charges, and a credit/debit card deposit is required at check-in. The hotel accepts American Express, Visa, Diners Club, JCB, Discover, UnionPay debit card, UnionPay credit card, and MasterCard.
