HOMEWOOD SUITES BY HILTON AUSTIN SOUTH, Austin

The hotel is situated 8 km from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and a short drive from Austin Convention Center, the Capitol Building, and Moody Center. South Congress Avenue is also nearby. While the area is generally quiet and safe, some have noted it can feel a bit isolated, especially at night. The property sits between office parks and highway routes, making a car the most practical way to explore the city. Taxi or rideshare is recommended for trips to downtown and Moody Theatre, as public transport options are limited.

Suites feature a separate bedroom and living area with a sofa bed, providing privacy and space to spread out. Each suite includes a full kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, and tea/coffee maker. Available bed configurations include 1-bedroom suites with 1 king or 2 queen beds, or 2-bedroom suites sleeping up to 6. Some suites feature a door between the living and sleeping areas, which is a practical advantage for families. While the rooms are spacious, a few have been noted to feel slightly dated, with worn furniture and carpets. Air conditioning is via a window unit rather than central thermostat. Light sleepers may want to request a room on a higher floor or away from exterior doors, as entry door noise can be an issue. Noise from appliance compressors (refrigerator, air conditioner) has also been noted in some rooms.

The breakfast buffet includes cereal, pastries, yogurt, fruit, and breakfast tacos, along with hot items like eggs and a rotating meat choice. Coffee is available in the lobby 24/7. While many find the breakfast satisfying, the options can be repetitive. The hotel does not have a full-service restaurant, but a Wednesday evening social reception offers complimentary snacks and drinks. Several nearby dining options include Limestone Lounge (0.5 km) and Tekila's Mexican Food (1 km), both within a short drive. The fully equipped kitchen in the suite allows guests to prepare their own meals, although dish soap and some cooking utensils may not be provided.

The outdoor pool is open all year and surrounded by a fence, with sun loungers and towels provided. The fitness centre is also free to use. The pool area can sometimes be less clean, but it generally offers a relaxing spot. Board games are available for family entertainment, and there is a picnic area and BBQ facilities on-site.
