HOTEL LA CHANCLA, Malaga

The hotel sits directly on the beachfront promenade of Pedregalejo, a lively neighbourhood with a relaxed, local atmosphere. Málaga city centre is about 5 km away, reachable by bus (frequent service from stops nearby), bicycle, or a short taxi ride. The area is flat, making it easy to walk along the beach or cycle. Several cafés, restaurants, and tapas bars are within 300 metres, including the hotel's own restaurant. The airport is a 30-minute drive (taxi approx. €35). Public transport is well-connected, and bike hire is available close to the hotel.

Rooms are decorated in bright Mediterranean colours and fitted with parquet floors, heating, and soundproofing. Some rooms face the sea, while others overlook a quiet pedestrian street. Bed configuration is a double bed; twin or other preferences cannot be guaranteed but can be requested. Rooms do not have a private balcony or terrace, but all share access to the rooftop terrace and hot tub. The two roof-level rooms (e.g. numbers 20-21) offer a more exclusive experience with direct terrace access and sea views. Bathrooms are compact but modern with a powerful rain shower and hairdryer. Electrical shutters allow full darkness. No fridge is provided in rooms.

The hotel's restaurant, La Chancla, is located on the ground floor and has a patio facing the sea. Breakfast is an à la carte menu (included in some rates, otherwise €15) offering fresh juices, coffee and a main dish from a varied menu. The restaurant also serves lunch, dinner, high tea and cocktail hour, featuring an Angus burger, tapas and a range of Spanish dishes. Children's meals are available. Area dining is excellent: numerous laid-back bars and restaurants within a short walk, particularly known for sardine espeta. The rooftop honesty bar is available for hotel guests only.

The roof terrace is a standout feature, offering a year-round hot tub (free for all hotel guests) and sun loungers. The terrace also has an honesty bar with a self-service fridge. An open-air bath, solarium and public bath are free to use. Massage treatments and sun loungers or umbrellas on the beach are available for an additional charge. The property is right on the beach, with direct access to the sand and sea. Free live music or live sport events are broadcast on site.

Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and public areas. Daily housekeeping is included and fresh towels are provided daily. Luggage storage is available for after check-out. Private check-in/check-out and a tour desk are on hand. Fax/photocopying is free. Parking is off-site (300m away) and costs €10 per day with reservation. Street parking is also possible. The hotel does not have a shuttle service. A safety deposit box, key card access, CCTV and smoke alarms are installed. Cots are available on request. The property is fully non-smoking inside. Only street-level rooms are accessible via lift.
