The hotel occupies a Victorian building on Norfolk Square, a calm and safe enclave with a park-like garden and seating area. Paddington Station is a two-minute walk, providing the Heathrow Express (15 minutes to the airport), the Bakerloo, Circle, District, and Hammersmith & City lines, and national rail services. Hyde Park and Oxford Street are both within a 15-minute walk, while Baker Street is 20 minutes away. The immediate neighbourhood is packed with restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, and convenience stores, all within a minute or two on foot. Bus stops directly outside and the station's transport hub make car-free exploration simple. Parking is not available on-site.

The accommodation is functional rather than stylish. Rooms are en-suite and include a double or twin beds (often with hard spring mattresses), a small CRT television with limited channels, a desk, wardrobe, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Floorboards throughout the building creak and noise travels easily between rooms and floors, making light sleepers consider bringing earplugs. Air conditioning is available in some rooms but heating has been inconsistent. Bathrooms are small and may show wear: cracked tiles, mould, and occasional low water pressure or lukewarm water. On the upside, rooms are generally clean, and those at the front overlook Norfolk Square. The hotel is entirely non-smoking.

The included breakfast buffet provides a standard continental spread: bread, croissants, cheese, cold meats, fruit, yogurt, cereals, and juices, along with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. It is served in the hotel's restaurant area. Lunch and dinner are not offered on-site. The surrounding streets, however, contain a dense cluster of dining options - including Indian, Italian, steakhouse, fish and chips, pubs, and fast food - all within a two-minute walk, as well as several supermarkets for self-catering.

The hotel provides practical amenities geared towards budget travellers and transit users. The reception desk is staffed 24 hours with security on-site around the clock.
