The city centre (George Square, Buchanan Galleries, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall) is 2.5-3 km away, easily reached by bus, train, or a 20-25 minute walk. The M8 motorway and the city's Low Emission Zone boundary are nearby, so car access requires attention to LEZ rules. Glasgow Airport is 15 km from the property.

Room types include single, double, twin, and family rooms, with some offering private ensuite bathrooms and others having shared bathroom facilities on the floor. A number of rooms are located on the top floor beneath a sloping roof, where headroom is extremely limited - suitable only for shorter individuals. These roof-level rooms may also have low bathroom ceilings. Rooms generally contain a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities, a kettle, and an electric heater. Some rooms lack a wardrobe or have only a single hook for hanging clothes. Noise can travel between rooms through thin walls and creaky floors; top-floor rooms tend to be quieter in terms of street noise. The heating and water systems occasionally produce noise from pipes, and some rooms have electric heaters rather than central heating. Bed sizes vary; single rooms may have a small single bed, while family rooms can have bunk beds. All rooms are cleaned daily, but housekeeping does not necessarily provide fresh towels every day.
