PENZION SOFI, Prague

Penzion Sofi is set in a calm, low-traffic neighbourhood in Prague 5, about 8 km from Charles Bridge and 5 km from Vysehrad Castle. The nearest metro station is a 10-minute walk away, connecting to the city centre in 10-12 minutes, and a bus stop is just 2 stops from the metro. Parking is free on the street and practical for drivers, though overnight spaces (20:00-08:00 and weekends) are free without a reservation. Several restaurants, a supermarket and a bakery are within a 5-minute walk, and a large shopping mall is 1 km away. The area is not within walking distance of major tourist landmarks, so public transport or taxi is recommended for sightseeing.

The property offers single, double, twin and triple rooms, each with a flat-screen TV, wardrobe and carpeted flooring. Rooms are small and best suited for solo travellers or short stays - double rooms can feel cramped with bags for two people. Most rooms share bathrooms and toilets located on the corridor; there are three separate shower rooms and two separate toilets, which usually avoids waiting even when full. Some rooms feature a private balcony or garden views. Heating is provided, but upper-floor rooms can get warm and rely on balcony doors for ventilation. The room interiors are basic and the furnishings show some wear, but the linen and towels are clean. A desk and free toiletries are included.

The property does not have a restaurant or serve breakfast. A communal kitchenette on the ground floor is equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, refrigerator, and a basic set of cutlery and dishes. Complimentary tea and coffee are sometimes provided. Several dining options are within a 5-minute walk: Aldo Pizzerie, Cafe Empiria, and Mattes restaurace are all 0.5 km away, along with a bakery and a supermarket for self-catering supplies. For a fuller meal, a good Czech bar and a selection of Asian restaurants are also nearby.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Free public parking is available on the street nearby without a reservation; note that reservation is not possible. Check-in is contactless: a key code is sent by message for a lockbox, facilitating late arrivals. There is no formal reception desk - the property is unstaffed, though the owner is reachable by message and a cleaner attends during the day. A shared kitchenette (microwave, kettle, fridge, utensils) is available. Luggage storage is not confirmed. Payment is accepted by Visa, Diners Club, JCB, Maestro, Discover and MasterCard.
