ROOMS PIRAMIDE, Rome

The hotel sits on Via Ostiense, a lively street lined with restaurants, supermarkets and shops. Piramide metro stop is immediately outside, providing a direct connection to Termini station and the city centre. Roma Ostiense train station is a 3-minute walk away, with frequent trains to Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in about 30 minutes. The Colosseum and Roman Forum are roughly 30 minutes on foot or a short metro ride. The area has a practical, urban feel with a nearby supermarket and indoor parking garage. The district around the viaduct can feel marginal at night, and street/city noise is present.

Each double room includes a private bathroom with shower, bathrobes, free toiletries, hairdryer, and soundproof walls. The room has a wardrobe, dressing room, and work desk. However, space is tight - storage is limited with only a single hanger, no bedside table, and rooms are described as basic yet functional. The main drawback is train noise: the railway runs a few metres from the back-facing windows, with trains passing every few minutes from early morning to late night. Windows are soundproofed but not enough to fully block the noise for light sleepers. Air conditioning is provided, but some units have reported malfunctioning controls or loud operation. Rooms are cleaned daily. Layouts are carved from a former apartment, so walls are thin and noise from neighbouring rooms and flushing toilets can be heard.

The property does not serve breakfast or have its own restaurant or bar. Guests have access to a shared kitchen equipped with basic cookware, plates, and cutlery - though no coffee machine or basic staples like sponges or dish towels are provided. At least 10 restaurants, pizzerias, sushi, and gelateria are within 300 metres, including Il Secchio e l'Olivaro, Osteria Fratelli Mori, and Porto Fluviale. A well-stocked supermarket is right outside, useful for self-catering. For those wanting a hot drink, the cafés in the ground-floor trattoria are a practical alternative.

The property focuses on accommodation services, with no dedicated wellness, pool, or leisure areas. Guests looking for recreation can walk 10-15 minutes to the Testaccio district or the Tiber riverside paths. The area is more suited to city exploration than on-site relaxation.

Services are streamlined for self-sufficient stays. The property operates with contactless entry via codes sent through WhatsApp before arrival, with a helpful host who can arrange early check-in or late baggage storage. Daily housekeeping is included for free, and towels are changed every 4th day at no cost - sooner changes cost €4. WiFi is free in the rooms and reported as fast. No on-site parking is available, but indoor garages are nearby. No pets are allowed. The building has CCTV outside and fire extinguishers. Accepted payment methods are American Express, Visa, Mastercard. Some guests reported non-functioning power sockets and a broken toilet flush - however, the host typically responds to issues via WhatsApp.
