ROYAL HOUSE VATICANO, Rome

The property is within a relaxed walk of St. Peter's Basilica (2 km away) and is well-connected by bus and metro to Rome's historic centre (around 20-30 minutes by metro to major attractions like the Colosseum). The immediate neighbourhood is residential and peaceful, with a pizzeria, gelateria, supermarket, and pharmacy all within a few minutes' walk. For guests heading to the Stadio Olimpico, a 40-minute walk gets you there directly. Fiumicino Airport is 32 km away, and the paid airport shuttle is a practical alternative to public transport. Street parking is sometimes available in the area, but the property itself has no dedicated parking.

The accommodation includes double and quadruple rooms, with some units offering a fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave) for self-catering. Rooms vary in layout: most provide a private bathroom, but a few require crossing a shared hallway to reach the bathroom, which can be impractical and noisy at night due to separate key access. Soundproofing between rooms is limited, making internal noise from neighbouring doors and conversations a consideration for light sleepers. While some rooms are described as spacious and clean, documented reports indicate that other areas-particularly bathrooms-show wear with mentions of dated fixtures, mold, and mildew. The in-room hot tub or spa bath is a popular feature, but occasionally non-functional or in need of maintenance. The shared kitchen (coffee machine, fridge, toaster) is available for guest use.

For meals, the property offers a shared kitchen equipped with a coffee machine, refrigerator, toaster, and microwave, suitable for preparing simple breakfasts or snacks. The immediate area is rich with affordable and well-reviewed eateries, including Dietrocasa-trattoria-pizzeria, Gelateria Iamotti, Sargenti, and Gianpo Pizzeria-all within a 300-metre walk. The neighbourhood also features supermarkets for stocking up on supplies. While breakfast is not available at the property, the nearby gelateria and cafés offer morning options. Guests should plan their dining arrangements in advance, especially for breakfast or larger evening meals, as there is no on-site restaurant or bar.

Services include a lift, designated non-smoking rooms, daily housekeeping (free), express check-in/out (for a fee), concierge service, and lockers. An airport shuttle can be arranged at an additional cost. Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the property. No on-site parking exists; street parking is sometimes found nearby but is not guaranteed. Reception is not available 24/7, but check-in is self-service with clear instructions. Luggage storage is offered, useful for early arrivals or late departures. The property accepts multiple payment methods including Visa, MasterCard, and Maestro. Housekeeping frequency can be arranged upon request, and some past stays have noted inconsistency in deep cleaning standards.
