SHALIMAR HOSTEL, Las Vegas

The hostel is positioned between the Strip and Downtown Las Vegas, offering easy access to both areas. Fremont Street Experience is 2 km away, and The Neon Museum is 3 km. The Stratosphere Tower is within a 12-minute walk, making it a convenient base for exploring the north end of the Strip and nearby casinos. Multiple dining options are within a 5-minute walk, including Snick's Place, Boston Pizza, and Puerto Rico Express. The area is walkable for attractions but a car, rideshare, or bus is recommended for reaching the main Strip or Downtown efficiently.

Accommodation consists of private rooms with shared bathrooms; no private bathroom options exist. Rooms are functional but compact - space is limited, and some rooms may feel cramped for four people. A fridge, microwave, and coffee maker are provided in some rooms, though availability varies. Beds are standard, and some rooms have air conditioning and a fan. Rooms do not include a balcony or terrace. The property has a lift for upper-floor access. Noise from the pool area and hallway can be an issue; light sleepers may want to bring earplugs. The overall decor and furnishings are dated, and some rooms show signs of wear.

The property has a casual restaurant offering Cuban dishes such as pepperoni pizza and other Latin-inspired fare. The bar and lounge area provides a relaxed setting for drinks. The attached coffee shop is open daily. Breakfast is not served at the hostel. For additional variety, several nearby eateries are within a short walk, including Boston Pizza, Puerto Rico Express, and Jack in the Box. The restaurant has proven popular for its food quality and reasonable prices, making it a practical meal option without leaving the property.

Two swimming pools - one indoor, one outdoor - are available for guest use. The outdoor pool is set within a garden area and has been noted as a pleasant spot to relax. Additional activities include a casino, nightclub/DJ events, and tours about local culture. No spa, gym, or wellness centre is on site. The pool area can become busy and noisy, particularly in the evening, which may affect neighbouring rooms. The indoor pool offers a quieter alternative.

The property provides free Wi-Fi throughout, a 24-hour front desk with concierge service, and an ATM/cash machine on site. Luggage storage is available for guests arriving early or departing late. Laundry and dry cleaning services are offered. Daily housekeeping is provided, though cleaning quality can be inconsistent. The hostel is wheelchair accessible with facilities for disabled guests. Express check-in/check-out is available. A safety deposit box is provided in rooms. Pets are allowed on request with possible charges. The lift serves all floors.
