SUNBURST SPA & SUITES MOTEL, Los Angeles

The motel sits directly off the I-405 freeway on/off ramps, providing quick car access to LAX (8-10 minutes), Venice Beach (5 minutes), and Santa Monica (10-15 minutes). The property is on a bus line that serves LAX, Santa Monica, and Downtown LA. The immediate area is practical rather than picturesque, with several fast-food and casual dining options within a 3-5 minute walk, including Papa John's Pizza, Tito's Tacos, and a sushi restaurant directly across the street. A larger shopping mall with Target and Best Buy is a 5-minute drive away. The neighbourhood is generally quiet at night but can feel less safe for walking alone after dark; having a car is strongly recommended for full mobility.

Rooms are described as large and comfortable, with most featuring a desk, air conditioning, and carpeted floors. Each has a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination, free toiletries, and a hairdryer. The beds are firm with comfortable pillows, and many rooms have been updated with new mattresses and carpets. Some rooms have a private entrance. Noise can be a factor: roadside rooms pick up freeway traffic noise, while rooms at the back of the property are generally quiet. A few units have had complaints about musty smells or dated furnishings, but overall the accommodations are considered good value for the price. A work desk and cable TV with premium channels are provided. There is no coffee maker in the rooms.

The property advertises a spa, which consists of a small hot tub/jacuzzi in the parking lot area. This facility has been frequently reported as dirty, cold, or out of order, and has not been operational since at least 2020. It is not a heated pool and should not be expected as a usable amenity. There is no other leisure or wellness facility on site.

Wi-Fi is free and accessible throughout the property, though connection strength and speed have been inconsistent; some rooms have poor reception and the access code may change without notice. Parking is free and ample, with spaces directly in front of the rooms. Daily housekeeping is provided, but has been noted as inconsistent in thoroughness and frequency. The reception can arrange fax/photocopying and luggage storage. Vending machines for drinks and snacks, as well as an ice machine, are available on site. The property has a minimarket. Non-smoking rooms are available, and the entire property is non-smoking; however, designated smoking areas are clearly marked. The property features CCTV and key card access for security.
