The Trylon is situated on a quiet side street just off Sherbrooke Street, within a 5-minute walk of Place des Arts and the Quartier des Spectacles. The Metro station is a 5-minute walk away, providing direct access across the city and to the airport via the 747 bus. Old Montreal is a 20-minute walk, and Mount Royal park is a 10-minute walk. The area is dense with restaurants, bars, cafés, and grocery stores - two major supermarkets are within a 2-minute walk. The location is also convenient for festival-goers, being close to Just for Laughs and Jazz Festival venues, and for parents of university students thanks to its proximity to McGill University and UQAM.

Units range from compact studios to one-bedroom apartments; all include a kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, cookware, dishes, a coffee maker, and an electric kettle. Bedrooms have double or queen beds with comfortable mattresses in some units, while others have older, less comfortable beds. Sofa beds are available in the living area. Air conditioning is provided through window units - these can be noisy and may not cool the bedroom if the unit is in the living room. Heating is central and can be noisy at night. Rooms have a balcony or terrace, cable TV, a telephone, and a private bathroom with a shower. Some bathrooms are outdated with chipped tubs or stained fixtures; cleanliness is generally good, though dust and cobwebs have been noted in some units. Upper-floor apartments have excellent views; lower-floor units may have more limited views. Noise can be an issue from neighboring apartments, construction, hallway traffic, and the wind in poorly sealed windows. The building has three elevators.

The indoor swimming pool is open year-round and is complemented by a sauna and a small fitness centre. Wi-Fi is free throughout the building and is generally fast, though coverage can be inconsistent - some rooms may experience intermittent service. Private underground parking costs CAD 15 per day and must be reserved in advance; only one of the three elevators reaches the garage, which can cause wait times. The reception desk is staffed 24/7, with a night security guard from 23:00 to 07:00. Luggage storage is free. Self-service laundry (washer and dryer) is available.
