WAVEFLO HOSTEL 浪花青旅, Hong Kong

The hostel is a two-minute walk from Yau Ma Tei MTR Station, providing direct connections across Hong Kong and to West Kowloon Station (25 minutes on foot). Mong Kok MTR and the Ladies Market are less than one kilometre away. Harbour City and the International Commerce Centre are each two kilometres from the property. The entrance is on a quiet street, and the area feels safe to walk back to late at night. For food options, Mido Cafe and 85°C are a three-minute walk; several clay pot rice and Vietnamese restaurants are within five minutes.

The accommodation is one large room with five bunk beds (six single beds and four double beds). Each bunk has a privacy curtain, a personal reading light, power socket, and a private locker for valuables. The double beds are 1.2 metres wide and can fit three people if needed, but are best suited for one person or a very compact couple. The mattresses are thin and very firm, comparable to sleeping on a futon or a wooden plank. Bunk beds are box-style and spacious enough to keep a backpack on the bed. There are no additional hooks or hangers for coats, and no towel rental or hairdryer is provided. The room has no dedicated storage space for large luggage, so backpacks are often kept on the bunk.

The shared kitchen is compact and contains no communal utensils or dishware; it is primarily used by long-stay residents. The fridge space is limited. The hostel does not provide breakfast, towels or dining facilities. The surrounding Yau Ma Tei area offers numerous affordable local eateries within a two-minute walk, including Mido Cafe and clay pot rice restaurants. Circle K convenience store is a one-minute walk for snacks and drinks.

The shared lounge includes a TV area and games room with board games. Evening entertainment is available, and walking tours and hiking can be arranged for an additional charge. The balcony/terrace provides a quiet spot to relax with city views and is also useful for drying clothes.

WiFi is free throughout the hostel. Air conditioning is available in the room. A shared bathroom with shower, bidet, hairdryer, and free toiletries is provided. Daily cleaning services replenish toilet paper and tissues, though supplies may occasionally run out before the next clean. The hostel has a digital lock system - no physical key is needed. No staff are on-site; the owner responds via WhatsApp. Laundry services are not available. Luggage storage is not offered, but the locker in the bunk is useful for valuables.
