1896 O'MALLEY HOUSE, New Orleans

The bed and breakfast is situated in a peaceful residential area away from the bustle of Bourbon Street, yet the Canal Street streetcar stop is just a 2-5 minute walk away, providing a 15-20 minute ride to the French Quarter and riverside. City Park, the Botanical Garden, and the Sculpture Garden are within a 10-minute drive or short streetcar ride. Several well-reviewed restaurants (Mandina's, Katie's, Angelo Brocato Ice Cream) and a drugstore are within easy walking distance. For Audubon Park, the zoo, and the aquarium, plan for about a 20-minute drive. The location is especially convenient for Jazz Fest attendees, as the fairgrounds are nearby, and for those wanting easy car-free access to downtown without the noise of the Quarter itself.

While the property does not operate a swimming pool or a dedicated spa facility, it offers a garden, sun terrace, outdoor fireplace, and a picnic area for unwinding. Off-site activities available nearby (some free, some at additional cost) include bike tours, canoeing, cooking classes, cycling, hiking, golf course within 3 km, mini golf, pub crawls, walking tours, and live music performances. The hosts can assist with arranging swamp tours, local culture tours, and other excursions.

WiFi is available for free in all areas. Free public parking is available on site without reservation, supplemented by free street parking in a quiet, secure neighborhood. Luggage storage is complimentary for after check-out. Daily housekeeping is provided. Concierge service, tour desk, private check-in/out, and express check-in/out are offered. Meeting/banquet facilities are available for an additional charge. The property is fully non-smoking with a designated smoking area. It offers facilities for disabled guests, safety deposit boxes, 24-hour security, CCTV, and key access. Air conditioning and heating are functional.
