ARENA HOTEL, San Jose

The hotel is located on The Alameda, placing it directly along the route to the SAP Center, ideal for concert and event attendees. Within a 0.5 km radius are Whole Foods Market, CVS pharmacy, and several dining options including Crema Coffee, Sushi Infinity, Chipotle, and Floodcraft Brewing Co. The Diridon Caltrain station is nearby, offering direct routes to San Francisco and other parts of the valley. While downtown San Jose is about a 15-20-minute walk, taking an Uber back late at night is recommended. The area has seen development alongside the SAP Center but some blocks have a significant homeless presence. The hotel provides easy freeway access.

Breakfast is served in a dated, windowless room. The selection is limited by many accounts, described as a typical basic American motel breakfast with hot items (eggs, sausages) and cold items (cereals, canned fruit, yogurt). Some have noted the breakfast to be surprisingly good for the price, with eggs, sausages, and waffles on occasion. Unusable for a full meal, many suggest visiting Whole Foods or a nearby café for a more substantial breakfast. The dining area lacks atmosphere and breakfast staff can be inattentive.

Wi-Fi is free and works reasonably well. The 24-hour front desk can assist with bookings, fax/photocopying, and luggage storage. A vending machine for drinks and snacks is available. The property has a lift, though it has been reported as out of service on occasion. Housekeeping is offered daily but has been inconsistent, with some rooms not receiving fresh towels or bed-making. Laundry facilities are available on request. The hotel does not provide a business centre beyond fax/photocopying. The main entrance is secured at night, and on-site parking is free and generally available. Accessibility for guests with disabilities is provided.
