AVID HOTEL ATLANTA - CONYERS I-20 BY IHG, Conyers

The hotel sits about 50 km from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, making it a good option for travellers driving into the area. Stone Mountain Park is 32 km away, and the Rockdale County Jail is 6 km from the property. The surrounding neighbourhood is safe and well-lit, with several restaurants (Hardee's and Tokyo Hibachi Express within 1 km), grocery stores, and a shopping centre in walking distance. Ample free parking is available, though a reservation is required. For longer trips, the highway access is immediate, and local landmarks like the Covington town square are a short drive.

Each room offers either one king or two queen beds, a mini fridge, and a TV with streaming capability via your personal device. The minimalist approach means no carpets or extra furniture, which many find more sanitary. However, rooms are noticeably small, especially with a king bed. There is no in-room coffee maker or microwave - both are available in the lobby. The bathroom includes Dove toiletries and a shower with good water pressure, though some units have reported temperature inconsistencies. Noise levels vary: highway-facing rooms can pick up road noise, and hallway disturbances have been noted. If you are a light sleeper, request a higher floor away from the highway. Overall, the accommodation is best suited for overnight or weekend stays where comfort and convenience outweigh space.

The breakfast offering includes muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and a hot item such as an egg omelet with vegetables. It is designed for a quick start to the day. A small snack market in the lobby additional grab-and-go items and drinks. For those wanting a fuller meal, several restaurants are within walking distance, including a Hardee's (0.5 km) and Tokyo Hibachi Express (1 km). The 24/7 coffee and tea bar in the lobby is a convenient perk for early risers or late arrivals.

The fitness centre is equipped with cardio machines and free weights, and is open to all guests at no extra charge. A business centre with fax and photocopying services is also available. The lobby offers comfortable seating, a TV, and a coffee bar - a pleasant spot to unwind. For outdoor activities, Stone Mountain Park is a 30-minute drive away, offering hiking trails and family attractions.

WiFi is complimentary throughout the hotel. Parking is free but requires a reservation at check-in - the lot is clean and spacious. The business centre includes a computer, printer, and fax machine. The hotel is accessible via lift, though elevator reliability has been inconsistent; lower-floor rooms are available on request. Housekeeping is provided, but some have noted that it may require a request. The 24-hour front desk can assist with late-night arrivals and luggage storage. The entire property is non-smoking, and pets are welcome for a fee (see operational notes for details). Accepted payment methods include major credit cards.
