BUDGETEL INN WILMINGTON, Wilmington

The main-road setting makes the property easy to find after a long drive, with I-40 nearby for straightforward access to the area. Wrightsville Beach is about 12 minutes away, while downtown Wilmington, the convention center and shopping areas are close enough for a practical event or city base. Several restaurants lie within a 1 km walk, including Waffle House, Crispino's Pizza, Genki Sushi, Agostino's Pizza & Pasta, Elizabeth's Pizza and McDonald's. Free off-site parking spaces sit close to the room buildings, though the exit onto the main road can be awkward during busy periods.

Renovation is in progress, so room condition varies: some rooms now have updated furniture, flooring and appliances, while older rooms show wear such as peeling paint and tired bathroom fixtures. Non-smoking rooms are available, though a residual smoke odour can linger in some units. Beds are generally comfortable, with full-size beds in some rooms and sofa-bed options in others. Room proportions vary from spacious to compact. Certain rooms include a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator. Private bathrooms come with free toiletries; older units may have inconsistent hot water or water pressure, and tub surfaces can show wear. Ground-floor rooms give direct access from the parking area, and flat-screen TVs and air conditioning are standard.

The included breakfast is a basic continental offering with coffee, orange juice, cereal and muffins, served until 09:00; the breakfast room can become busy during peak times, so arriving early makes the selection easier to access. Drink and snack vending machines are available on-site, and the bar/lounge area provides another place to sit. The immediate area adds quick and casual dining within a 1 km walk, including Waffle House, Crispino's Pizza, Agostino's Pizza & Pasta, Elizabeth's Pizza, Genki Sushi and McDonald's.

The pool area is a genuine draw at this property, offering a large swimming pool with a surrounding terrace and space to sit. It remains open into the evening, which suits late-afternoon downtime and family use. A spa and wellness centre is also available on-site. The motel's position near Wrightsville Beach and several other beaches means the pool can be combined with a beach trip during warmer months. The leisure offer is simple and practical rather than resort-style, but the pool and easy beach access are the main reasons to choose this property for a relaxed stopover.

Wi-Fi is free in rooms and public areas, though the signal can weaken in rooms at the far end of the property. Free off-site private parking is available without a reservation, and spaces are positioned close to the room buildings. The 24-hour front desk supports late arrivals and can issue an invoice for the stay. Daily housekeeping is included, and additional towels are available on request. On-site laundry facilities add convenience for longer stays. Security is handled with CCTV in common areas and around the exterior, key card access, smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. Wheelchair access and accessible facilities are provided at the property.
