CLARION HOTEL, Fayetteville

The property sits west of I-95, allowing drivers to rejoin the highway quickly in both directions - a reliable halfway point on routes between Florida and the Northeast. Fayetteville Speedway is conveniently close for race-event stays. Around the exit, Bojangles' and Cracker Barrel are 0.5 km away, with McDonald's and Pizza Hut 1 km away. The driveway loops around the building, so getting in and out with a trailer or large vehicle is easy, and morning departures are straightforward.

This is a large, older hotel with a convention-style layout: wide corridors, long hallways, and rooms set far from the elevator. Bed configurations include king and double/double rooms, and some suites add a separate sitting area. Features such as a long bathroom vanity, mini-fridge, microwave, and an easy chair make road-trip stops comfortable. Before reserving a suite, confirm whether the sofa actually converts into a bed, as some sitting areas have a regular sofa instead. Practical inconsistencies to plan around include noisy through-wall air-conditioning, limited bedside power outlets, dated bathrooms, and slow-draining showers in certain rooms. A first-floor room reduces walking with luggage and avoids reliance on the elevator.

The indoor pool is a genuine amenity for road-trippers, with comfortable water temperature and evening hours until 23:00. It sits directly beside a wide first-floor corridor with no wall or doors separating it, making it unusually convenient for a quick swim. The fitness room covers basic workout needs, and a golf course is available through the property. A large lawn beside the hotel gives children room to play, and the pet area provides a practical outdoor space for dog walks.

Internet access is free throughout the hotel, and on-site public parking is free with no reservation required. Late check-in and check-out can be arranged in addition to the standard 15:00 check-in and 11:00 check-out. Pet-friendly rooms are provided on request for an additional charge, with a designated outdoor area for dog stops. Wheelchair access is available, and ground-floor rooms are the most convenient for those with limited mobility. A business centre and meeting/banquet space support work trips and events, and rooms include a direct-dial telephone.
