The area around the property offers local supermarkets, pharmacies, and bars. The neighbourhood is not a central tourist zone; reaching the main sights requires a bus ride. Some find the area less secure at night. For airport access, the bus network is usable but involves a transfer; a taxi or ride-share is a more direct alternative.

Rooms are individually let within the property, ensuring privacy within the room itself. All bathrooms and the kitchen are shared among guests. Room sizes vary, with some offering a double bed and others two single beds. Several rooms have a ceiling fan, but none have air conditioning. Bed frames can be noisy; some double beds consist of two single mattresses joined together. Rooms on the ground floor share the bathroom with fewer other rooms, while rooms on upper floors share with more guests. Windows may not fully seal, and curtains can be thin, letting in street light. The building has no lift. A few rooms have a mezzanine sleeping area with a steep wooden staircase. Noise from other rooms and the street can be significant.
