Situated 2 km from Galena's historic Main Street, this B&B offers a peaceful retreat at the edge of town.
The mansion is a 5-minute drive from the Galena Historic District (3.5km), where shopping and dining are concentrated. Walking from the property is possible but involves a steep, hilly road; driving to Franklin Street and walking the final block is the recommended approach. Free on-site parking eliminates any downtown parking hassle. Nearby attractions include Diamond Jo Casino (23km) and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium (23km). Dubuque Regional Airport is 33km away.

Accommodation

Rooms feature air conditioning, private bathrooms, fireplaces, and garden views, with options including family suites and ground-floor units.
The property has five guest rooms in the main house plus a separate cottage (Antonio's Cottage) about 30.5 m away. Many rooms include a private jacuzzi tub for two, gas fireplace, king-size bed, and a flat-screen satellite TV with DVD player. The cottage offers a kitchenette and is the only pet-friendly space. Some rooms (Sara's Suite and the cottage) have pull-out sofa sleepers for extra guests. Ground-floor rooms are available. Rooms are known for their cleanliness, soft bedding, and comfortable mattresses. The quiet setting ensures minimal road noise.

A complimentary full country breakfast with homemade dishes is served each morning.
Breakfast rotates daily and includes items such as French toast with granola, apple waffles, zucchini fritters, Swedish pannekoeken, cinnamon roll pancakes, and eggs made to order. The meal is served in courses on formally set tables with china, silver, and crystal. The innkeeper accommodates dietary restrictions, including gluten-free and vegetarian requests. Staggered seating (8, 9, 10am) ensures an intimate atmosphere. Portions are generous, often eliminating the need for lunch.

Private in-room jacuzzi tubs and on-site couples massage complement the tranquil garden setting.
Each room has its own private jacuzzi or whirlpool tub (the Tower Room features a two-person whirlpool in the cupola). The property offers couples massage sessions, which can be arranged and performed in the cottage or a designated area. The landscaped grounds include a gazebo by a pond, a fire pit area, and outdoor seating. The common room provides an extensive DVD library and a coffee/tea station. There is no swimming pool.
