COZY DUNBAR 5 BEDS HOME WITH VIEWS, NEAR UBC, DT, YVR, Vancouver

The property is on a peaceful, tree-lined street in the Dunbar area, about 40 minutes by bus from downtown. Bus #2 (3-min walk) connects to Canada Place, and bus #25 (two blocks away) serves UBC and Kitsilano for about 25 minutes. Free street parking is plentiful in front. The neighbourhood is safe and green, with a Safeway 10 minutes by bus. A taxi from YVR airport costs $33 flat rate (about 20 minutes), and from Canada Place an Uber runs $30-35.

Individual rooms are priced per room (not the whole house) and sleep 1-2 people on either a queen or king bed. Rooms at the front have mountain or sea views; ground-floor rooms face the garden but can be musty. Some rooms are oversized for the floor plan-up to 240 sqft-while others are tight with bulky furniture that leaves little suitcase space. The Sea View room includes a private half-bath (toilet and sink) but a shower shared with other guests. Double rooms include a shared bathroom with a walk-in shower. Air conditioning is available in some but not all rooms; heating is provided. Lighting can be poor, and some rooms lack blackout curtains. The quiet residential setting usually ensures a peaceful sleep, though sound carries between rooms.

The kitchen is stocked with cookware, utensils, a tea and coffee maker, and free coffee/tea supplies. It also includes a dining area and access to a terrace and outdoor seating. Several restaurants and bakeries are within walking distance: La Buca (0.5 km), Fiore Famiglia, Mexi Cali, and Bigsby The Bakehouse (each about 1 km). The kitchen is shared among all guests; some earlier visitors found it lacking in basics like sharp knives or enough plates for six people. Guests wanting a full dinner service will find several casual options nearby.

The garden and patio provide seating and a small sun trap, though upkeep has varied. For swimming and fitness, a pool and gym are accessible at a nearby high school. The surrounding area is suitable for walks and jogs in the quiet neighbourhood.
