HOTEL DE PARIS OPERA, Paris

The hotel sits on a main road in a lively area, with Metro stations Poissonnière (line 7) and Anvers (line 2) both a short walk away. Line 7 runs directly to major hubs like Gare de l'Est, Châtelet-Les-Halles, and the Louvre, while line 2 provides quick access to Montmartre, the Arc de Triomphe, and Porte Dauphine. The Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est train stations are each less than 10 minutes on foot, making the hotel a practical base for travellers arriving from or departing to other cities. Many restaurants, bars, and shops are clustered within a few blocks, and Montmartre and the Sacré-Cœur are within a 20-minute walk. Paid parking is available at a nearby garage (Garage d'Abbeville, €25/24 hours).

All rooms include a private bathroom with bath or shower and a hairdryer, free toiletries, a wardrobe or open shelving, and a safe. Some rooms have a desk, and a few upper-floor rooms offer views of the Eiffel Tower from the window. Rooms on the street side can be very noisy; rooms facing the courtyard are noticeably quieter. The lift only serves the first three floors, so rooms on floors 4-6 require climbing steep stairs. Many rooms are described as small and dimly lit. There is no air conditioning, no tea/coffee-making facilities, and no minibar. A shared microwave and fridge are available in the kitchen. Interiors can feel dated, with decor and furnishings that show wear. Daily housekeeping is provided for bed-making and towel changes, but deeper cleaning consistency varies.

The breakfast buffet typically includes bread, pastries, butter, jam, boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, cereal, and hot drinks (coffee, tea, juice). The quality is considered basic but sufficient for a simple start to the day. The breakfast room is small, and queues can form during peak hours as there are limited tables. For travellers who prefer to eat a lighter meal or explore more options, several cafés, boulangeries, and a Carrefour supermarket are within a short walk. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar, but many casual dining spots are nearby within 300 metres, including Bouillon 47, Cremerie Rochechouart, and Prik Thai.

For relaxation and activities, guests can explore Montmartre and the Sacré-Cœur church (about 20 minutes on foot), walk along the Boulevard Haussmann shopping area, or visit the nearby restaurants and bars. The hotel's central location also provides easy access to the Opéra Garnier district and the grand department stores. Free walking tours are available as an activity option.
