The hotel sits in the Cannaregio area, a quieter, less touristy part of Venice with a lively local atmosphere. It is only 8 minutes on foot from the Santa Lucia train station, ideal for arrivals by rail. The Guglie water bus stop (line 4.2 or 5.2) is a 2-minute walk, providing direct access to the airport and other islands. St. Mark's Square is a 30-minute walk along canals. The immediate vicinity is filled with authentic bars, bacari, and restaurants along Rio della Misericordia, making it easy to eat and drink without venturing into crowded tourist zones. The area is very quiet at night, with no street noise disturbing sleep.

Each room at Domus Orsoni is individually decorated, with striking glass-mosaic walls and floors created by the adjacent Orsoni mosaic factory. Rooms are notably spacious and very clean, with large comfortable beds. Private bathrooms are also large and well-maintained. All rooms include air conditioning - a valuable feature for summer visits - heating, parquet or mosaic floors, an in-room safe, and free toiletries. Some rooms open onto a shared garden terrace. The atmosphere is quiet and tranquil, as the building faces an inner courtyard. The entire property is non-smoking. The lack of a lift means rooms are only accessible via stairs.

Breakfast is offered at a €12 surcharge, but only during high season; it is not served in low season. The meal is a continental buffet, sufficient for a good start. For other meals, room service is available, and special diet menus can be arranged on request. The Cannaregio district is packed with nearby eateries - Osteria Sottobanco, Gam Gam Kosher Restaurant, and Maciao are all within a 5-minute walk, and Rio della Misericordia is lined with traditional bacari and trattorias offering authentic Venetian cuisine.
