ECONO LODGE AUSTIN SOUTH, Austin

The property is 10 km from The University of Texas. Lady Bird Lake, offering canoeing and fishing, is within a 10-minute drive. Several dining options are within walking distance: Revive Restaurant (0.5 km), Opal Divine's (1 km), and Sonic Drive-In (1 km). The location is car-dependent; free on-site parking is available without a reservation, making it practical for guests driving into the city. The immediate area has been described as sketchy at night, so use caution when returning late.

Room types include double rooms with one bed and quadruple rooms with two beds. Each room features a TV with cable channels, a telephone with free local calls, and a tea/coffee maker. The property is older and rooms are very basic, with worn furniture, particle-board edges, and dated decor. The air conditioning may need to be activated from the front desk in some rooms. Some rooms have reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance (loose doorknobs, broken fixtures), and pests. Bed linens should be inspected upon arrival - stained or unwashed sheets have been reported. A luggage rack is unlikely to be provided. For light sleepers, request a room away from common areas and the road, as noise from other guests and outside activity can be significant.

Breakfast is described as a basic continental offering - toast, make-your-own waffles, cereal, and hot drinks - but has been reported as limited and occasionally closed early. The motel has no restaurant or bar on site. Several nearby restaurants provide dining alternatives: Revive Restaurant (0.5 km), Opal Divine's (1 km), and Sonic Drive-In (1 km). Guests who need a reliable hot breakfast should plan to eat out.

The motel features an outdoor swimming pool, which can be a welcome amenity in the Texas heat. However, the pool has been reported as out of service at times due to permit problems with local authorities. No spa or fitness centre is available. For outdoor recreation, Lady Bird Lake (within 10 minutes by car) offers canoeing and fishing.
