FRIENDSHIP PLACE, Rome

Friendship Place sits on the sixth floor of a residential building at Via Varese, just a two-minute walk from Termini Station. This central transport hub connects guests via both Metro lines, trains to/from Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, buses to the city centre, and hop-on-hop-off bus stops. Many major archaeological sites including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain are within a 15-25 minute walk or a short metro ride. The area around Termini is busy day and night, with a wide selection of restaurants, bars, cafés, supermarkets, and minimarkets within a 0.5 km radius. However, street noise from traffic can be significant, especially in road-facing rooms, and the station vicinity can feel less inviting late at night. The property's proximity to Termini makes it a practical base for transit travellers, but the neighbourhood lacks the quieter charm of Trastevere or Monti. Luggage storage is available at reception for exploring the city before check-in or after check-out.

The property offers double rooms and twin/double rooms, all with private bathroom, hairdryer, free toiletries, flat-screen TV, minibar, and large cupboards. Rooms are located either in the main building on the sixth floor (with lift) or in an annex building about five minutes' walk away. The annex has no reception and is the only option for guests who require two single beds (must be requested). Both buildings have key access and a security door chain. Rooms have been described as clean and comfortable by some, with daily towel changes and bed-making, while others report worn-out towels, thin pillows, stained sheets, and mattresses that feel thin or springy. Several guests noted mould in shower grouting, clogged sinks, broken toilet seats, non-functional lamps, and windows that do not close properly - particularly in older rooms. The annex rooms are more likely to be newer or recently renovated and may feel cleaner, though some lack curtains, electric sockets, and drinking glasses. Noise from traffic, slamming doors, and the lift is common especially for rooms facing the street or next to the elevator; light sleepers should request a quiet room. The property has no balcony, no kitchen, and no sitting room.

Friendship Place does not serve breakfast and has no restaurant, bar, or kitchen. The area immediately surrounding the property (within 0.5 km) offers many dining options including Trattoria Galanti, Stazione1000, Bar Fondi, Ristorante Mino, Hokkaido, Meid in Nepols, and several pizzerias and cafés. A supermarket and minimarket are also very close by for self-catering. For breakfast, the cafés on Via Milazzo and Via Marsala serve pastries, coffee, and sandwiches. The lack of on-site dining means guests must plan meals out; the proximity to Termini ensures a wide range of choices at different price points, but the property itself offers no food or drink service.
