HOSPEDERIA DEL PILAR, Valencia

The guesthouse sits on a lively pedestrian street in the old town, directly opposite the Central Market and a short walk from Valencia Cathedral. Valencia Train Station is 10 minutes on foot, and the main square with bus connections to the beach is a 10-minute walk. Dozens of restaurants, bars, and shops are within 5 minutes. The City of Arts and Sciences is about 30 minutes on foot or a short bus ride. The location is ideal for sightseeing, but street-level rooms can be noisy, especially on weekends.

Rooms are furnished simply with tiled floors and light wood furniture. Each room has air conditioning, heating, a TV, and a work desk. The private bathroom includes a shower, but space is tight - some bathrooms have limited counter space and no shelf. Soundproofing is poor: conversations, footsteps, and pipe noise from neighbouring rooms and corridors are clearly audible. Rooms facing the street pick up noise from bars and passers-by; courtyard-facing rooms may have limited light and views of air conditioning units. Windows open but some rooms lack good ventilation. Beds are comfortable but some rooms have a single long pillow instead of two separate ones. No balcony, fridge, or kettle. Access is via stairs only; no lift. The property is dated but clean, suited for short stays where the location is the priority.
