Airport access is straightforward: a taxi costs about €35 and takes 15-20 minutes, or take the A1 bus to Plaça Espanya then metro Line 3 to Paral*lel (€8, about 40-45 minutes total). The neighbourhood is central and walkable; the Gothic Quarter and cruise port are within a 15-20 minute walk. At night the street buzzes with outdoor dining and bar life, so rooms facing the street can be lively.

Rooms are compact but functional, each with a private bathroom (most with shower, some single rooms have a small bathtub), heating, and a hairdryer. Some double rooms have a street view and outside window; single rooms and some others may open onto an internal air shaft or stairwell, limiting natural light and ventilation. Rooms are cleaned daily with towel and bed linen changes. The general condition is basic and tired - furniture is old, some bathrooms show mould and grout discolouration, and noise insulation between rooms is poor. There is no minibar or microwave in the room, but a communal microwave is available in the lobby 24/7, and a fridge in the breakfast room can be used to store items. No rooms have a balcony.

The buffet includes a variety of breads, butter, jams, cornflakes, yogurt, cheese, ham, salami, croissants, chocolate croissants, muffins, biscuits, gaufres, Nutella, fruit, juice, coffee, milk and tea. The breakfast room also offers 24-hour access to cold and hot drinks and pastries, plus a microwave. Breakfast is a straightforward continental selection - it is not extensive but provides enough for a quick start. For other meals the hostal has no restaurant, but a supermarket is in the same building and many tapas bars, cafes and restaurants are within a short walk, particularly along Carrer de Blai (50 metres away). Guests wanting a fuller meal option will find the area well-served. The breakfast is paid separately if not included in the booking rate.
