ELISABETH, Vienna

The hostel sits on a quiet street just off the Westbahnhof area, giving direct rail and tram access to the city centre and airport. Schönbrunn Palace is 3 km away. A Lidl supermarket is just across the street, and a range of restaurants including Konoba Pescaria and China-Restaurant zum Westbahnhof are within a 5-minute walk. The location is practical for transit travellers and city explorers alike, with shops and public transport covering most needs.

Rooms are basic and compact, with a private entrance, soundproofing, and a work desk. Many units lack a window, relying on a ventilation fan that is noisy but necessary for air circulation. Storage is minimal - no wardrobes or hooks in several rooms. The double bed measures about 110 cm wide, and the mattress is firm. Carpets in some rooms are dusty or worn. Rooms with a window exist but are limited; requesting one in advance is advised. Private bathroom includes shower and sink, while the toilet is sometimes shared and located in the hallway. The shared kitchen is equipped with a stovetop, refrigerator, and tea/coffee maker, but no microwave.

WiFi is free in all areas. A self-service laundry is available. Lockers and a safety deposit box (for a charge) are provided. The 24-hour front desk can assist with dry cleaning (extra charge). Baby safety gates are available for families. The property has non-smoking rooms and full-day security with CCTV and key access. The check-in process uses a key safe with a daily code. Only one key exists for the building; it must be returned to the safe to avoid being locked out. The owner communicates primarily in German. Housekeeping is done but carpets are not always vacuumed thoroughly.
