HOTEL ALTENWERDER HOF, Hamburg

Hotel Altenwerder Hof is situated in a quiet residential street in the Neugraben district of Hamburg. The Neugraben S-Bahn station is approximately 350 to 500 metres away, providing direct trains to Hamburg city centre in about 30 minutes. The hotel is also conveniently located near the A1 motorway, ideal for travellers arriving by car. Key landmarks include Fish Market Hamburg (10 km), Hamburg-Altona Train Station (10 km), and the Port of Hamburg (11 km). Hamburg Airport is 20 km from the property. Several restaurants and a supermarket are within walking distance. The area is described as a park-like residential neighbourhood.

The hotel offers single, double, and family rooms. All rooms feature soundproof walls, a wardrobe, heating, a carpeted floor, and a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. Double rooms are available in different designs and sizes; some are more compact, making them more suitable for short stays or single occupancy. Family rooms can accommodate up to four people with two double beds, and some have a balcony. Room sizes vary, and a few rooms have been described as small. Some rooms include a minibar or a small fridge. While soundproofed, noise from the hallway, neighbouring rooms, and the street can be audible, making a room away from the reception and ground floor preferable for light sleepers. Some rooms have been noted to have signs of wear and tear in the bathroom.

The hotel offers a buffet breakfast served in a small room located on the lower ground floor. The breakfast includes bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, spreads, coffee, tea, and sometimes fresh items like scrambled eggs or boiled eggs. The breakfast room is small and can become crowded, especially at peak times. As the hotel has no restaurant or bar, guests can find several Turkish, Italian, and other restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel cannot offer a refund for breakfast if it is not taken.

Hotel Altenwerder Hof does not have a swimming pool, spa, or wellness centre. The property features a sun terrace that guests may use. The surrounding residential area and nearby parks offer opportunities for walks and relaxation. The lack of these amenities makes it a straightforward choice for travellers prioritising location, parking, and value over recreation.

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi throughout the property and free private parking on site without reservation. A 24-hour front desk is maintained, though staff may not always be present late at night; late check-in is possible via a key safe at the entrance. Services include daily housekeeping (free), express check-in/out, laundry and ironing services (both free), luggage storage (free), and a shared lounge with a TV area. A lift is available but has been reported as out of service, requiring use of stairs. Pets are allowed with a surcharge of 10 EUR per night. The property has non-smoking rooms and soundproof rooms. Accepted payment methods: Visa, EC-Card, MasterCard.
