HOTEL GENESI, Florence

The hotel is situated in the heart of Florence, within easy walking distance of the Duomo, the Accademia, and the Central Market. The area is well connected by public transport; the tram stop near the station provides direct access to the airport. The surrounding streets are pedestrian-friendly, and numerous restaurants, cafés, and gelaterias are within 300-500 metres. The property is located on a main road, so street-facing rooms can be noisy. For those arriving by car, the parking garage (San Zanobi) is very close, but the property itself is in a limited-traffic zone, so guests should plan their route carefully.

The accommodation ranges from compact single rooms with a small double bed (140 cm wide) to larger double rooms. All rooms have heating, air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and free toiletries. Some rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and a curtain (not cabin), while one room has a private external bathroom. The rooms are basic and some feel small, but daily housekeeping is provided. The building has no elevator, so guests must climb stairs to the second floor. Street-facing rooms are prone to noise from traffic, while rear-facing rooms are quieter. Recent window upgrades in some rooms have improved sound insulation, but light sleepers may still prefer to request a quiet courtyard-side room.

Breakfast is not served on-site, so guests should plan to eat at nearby cafés. The central location means many dining options are within a 5-minute walk, including Trattoria Mario (0.5 km) and several other restaurants and gelaterias within 300 metres. The shared lounge has a large refrigerator where guests can store their own food, and there is a café next door for morning coffee and pastries.

Guests looking for leisure activities can rent bicycles to explore the city. The hotel's central location puts all major sights within walking distance, so the lack of on-site wellness amenities is balanced by the convenience of the historic centre.

Key services include free Wi-Fi in all areas, daily housekeeping, luggage storage (available in the hall), express check-in/out, and private check-in/out. The shared lounge has a TV and a fridge for guest use. Safety features include a CCTV system, fire extinguishers, and key card access. Pet policy allows dogs free of charge; other pets may incur a fee. The property does not have a 24-hour reception; all communication is handled via WhatsApp. Housekeeping is daily, but towels may not be replaced every day. The building has no elevator, which can be challenging for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage.
