HOTEL IL GRANDUCA, Florence

The location strikes a balance between calm and connectivity: enough walking distance from the historic core to ensure quiet nights, yet within a 15-minute pedestrian reach of all major sites around Piazza del Duomo. On-street parking (€1/hour) and a ZTL-free position make it convenient for car travellers. The bus stop at Piazza della Libertà is a short walk, offering direct routes to the central station and airport. Several pizzerias and a supermarket are within 2-5 minutes on foot, though the immediate area has few formal restaurants open past early evening. For luggage-heavy arrivals, the Campo di Marte train station is the more practical choice, reducing the walk compared to Santa Maria Novella.

There are standard and superior double/twin/triple rooms; some superior categories include a private balcony, terrace, or courtyard access. All rooms have private bathrooms, but sizes vary considerably: standard bathrooms can be compact with small shower cabins, while superior or renovated bathrooms are more spacious and modern. Air conditioning is standard and reported to perform well even in summer; heating can be weaker in winter. Rooms facing the street may pick up traffic noise, while courtyard-side rooms are quieter. Triple configurations often place a thin extra mattress as the third bed - less comfortable for adults. Mosquitoes are noted in the area, but the hotel provides plug-in repellent devices on request. Daily housekeeping is included and free.
