HOTEL LA PIOPPA, Bologna

The hotel sits at the Bologna-Borgo Panigale junction, making it ideal for motorway travellers and those needing quick access to the airport (5 minutes by car) or the Unipol Arena. The bus stop (line 87/ ) is directly in front, providing a 30-minute connection to the city centre. Bologna Central Station is 10 km away by taxi (roughly 17-20 EUR). The surrounding area is practical for transit stays, with a large shopping mall nearby. Despite the motorway proximity, double-glazed windows and good insulation keep rooms quiet.

Available room types include twin and quadruple configurations. Rooms are spacious and clean, with practical amenities like a wardrobe, desk, and heating. The property is older and the decor is traditional, with some dated fixtures. Certain rooms may have limited natural light, and road-facing windows can let in traffic noise. Beds are firm and mattresses may feel hard. On request, daily housekeeping is provided free of charge. No rooms have a balcony.

Breakfast is a buffet with sweet and savoury options, including pastries, cold cuts, and cake. It is served starting at 06:00. For the main meal, the Locanda La Pioppa restaurant (lunch 12:00-14:00, dinner 19:30-22:00 Tuesday-Saturday) provides a full Italian dinner menu. A snack bar and bar are also available on the property, and the hotel can arrange food delivery if the restaurant is closed. The breakfast selection is simple but sufficient, with good coffee.

Confirmed leisure facilities are limited to the garden and terrace areas. There is no spa, wellness centre, or pool on site. For relaxation, the on-site bar provides a place to unwind, and the restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience.

The hotel provides a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures. Accessible parking and facilities for disabled guests are available. Concierge service, safety deposit box, and CCTV provide security. Business facilities (fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet rooms) are offered at an additional charge. Daily housekeeping is free.
