IDEAL B&B, Rome

The property occupies a converted apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building, accessible by lift. Valle Aurelia metro station (line A) is 200 m away, providing direct connections to the city centre and Termini Station. St. Peter's Basilica is about a 5-minute walk; the Vatican Museums are within 10 minutes on foot. The immediate area is a quiet residential zone with limited dining options, though several trattorias and cafés are a 5-minute walk east. The metro is the most efficient way to visit major sights such as the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. No on-site parking, so car travel is not recommended.

Rooms vary in size; some are spacious while others are compact and have limited natural light. All rooms feature a private bathroom with tiled floors, hairdryer, and toiletries. Standard amenities include a minibar, flat-screen TV with only Italian channels, air conditioning (subject to management permission), and free WiFi. Parquet floors and tea/coffee facilities are common. Soundproofing is minimal - noise from neighbouring rooms, plumbing, and the street can be noticeable, making earplugs advisable. Rooms are cleaned daily, but toilet paper and toiletries may need to be requested separately.

Breakfast typically consists of packaged croissants, coffee, juice, and milk. It is served in a small shared kitchen or on a balcony when weather permits. The breakfast area can feel cramped when multiple guests are present. Coffee is instant Nescafé. Breakfast is not served before 8:30 and may run late if the staff member does not arrive on time. Guests wanting a more substantial meal can walk 5 minutes to find several bars and cafés serving espresso, pastries, and savoury options. There is no restaurant on-site; the kitchen has a hotplate but no cookware or pans for guest use.

Wireless internet is free throughout the building. An airport shuttle can be arranged for an additional charge. Luggage storage is offered at no cost, useful for early arrivals or late departures. The tour desk can assist with sightseeing arrangements. Daily housekeeping is included. Express check-in/check-out is available. The building has a lift and is equipped with a security alarm and key card access. Fax and photocopying services are free of charge. An ATM is located on site. The management is not always present; front desk availability can be limited, so it is best to confirm arrival times in advance. Payment is expected in cash; cards are not accepted.
